Permafrost GECKO 7
After more than a decade of
working on other refrigeration systems John has finally designed his own.
Each switchable fridge/freezer evaporator has its own air cooled compressor and
more or larger cabinets are dealt with by adding more of these self contained
units.
Each unit operates independently with its own thermostat and power supply.
Utilizing several small individual units means 'multi-engine' reliability.
Compressors can be changed out easily with self-sealing couplings and spade
terminals.
"We typically use three or four fan coils on a Maxi yacht with the air
cooled compressor /condensing units sited under the galley sole".
Air cooled condensing units
have proven more reliable and dispense with seacocks, strainers, pumps,
corrosion and of course leaks.
” On all vessels retrofitted so far there has been no significant temperature
increase in the galley area”. The Permafrost GECKO 7 kit is based around a
quiet 12/24VDC compressor with a seamless switching 110/220VAC power pack.
The condensing unit has a 6" x 11"/150mm x 260mm footprint that can be
customized.
With good insulation the 11" x 13"/150mm x 330mm forced draught fan
coil evaporator can handle 140L/5cu’
of freezer and 240L/8cu’ of
refrigerator space "The Permafrost multiple fan coil concept gives you
simple, economical, quiet, easily repairable refrigeration and freezing systems.
The GECKO 7 is the ideal alternative to bulky, complex and inefficient holding
plate systems"
